It’s an oldie but a goodie, so we’re throwing it back a bit with our blog post today! As we (finally) have a consistent blogging schedule here, it’s hard not to include some of the events we’ve done over the years! And ones that have really stuck out to us, like this one here. Will and Kayla’s wedding at Strongwater was definitely one of the highlights for us in our career, and one we love bringing up again. It also might just be some of my obsessiveness kicking in, as I can’t bear not sharing some of these favorites with our followers!
With a love for classic style, Kayla wanted a fall wedding that also embodied her love for deep, rich colors. Gold, mauve and ivory were all colors at the forefront of their event, accompanied by dark greens by Evergreen Flower Co.
They chose Strongwater as their venue, which is an insanely cool venue in Downtown Columbus. It’s in an artsy district of the city that has only improved as the years have gone on. The space in the back of the restaurant is large, with tall ceilings and lots of natural light coming in from the ceiling. It’s definitely an industrial venue, but we were able to bring in classic elements. They have two indoor spaces, which made it easy for their guests to enjoy cocktail hour in one, and reception in the other.
Kayla and her leading ladies got ready the morning of her wedding at Hotel LeVeque, one of our favorites in the downtown Columbus area. Henry Photography captured her dress hanging on one of their signature walls, a portrait we’ve always loved!
Cheer Up Press is another local favorite of ours, and if you’ve worked with us or have in the past, you already know this! Alaina custom-made these watercolor-like designs on Will and Kayla’s invites that brought in more of the mauve and dusty rose tones of their event.
If you haven’t noticed, this post is a lot of our favorite vendors! Working with Evergreen Flower Co. is always a treat, and she created one of our favorite bouquets to date, still. The pops of dark purple against Kayla’s detailed Tara Keely gown is the best.
Another wonderful feature of Strongwater is their outdoor event space. They had a warm and sunny September day where their guests were able to enjoy the ceremony without feeling overheated. This outdoor space does add to the industrial feel of their venue. We brought in gold Chiavari chairs to make it still felt like a classic affair. Therefore, that with the men’s sharp suits and romantic florals really brought it home.
This is hands down, our favorite bridal party portrait to date. I can remember Henry Photography telling us, “This is so Vogue” and we really can’t disagree!
You know I have deep passion for fruit in any season, so we brought in pears, figs and berries to accent Will and Kayla’s tables. Because of this touch, it brought in more of the fall season to their reception design.
Again, another favorite – this seating chart! Cheer Up Press created these pieces that we hung from the ceiling of Strongwater, complimented by Evergreen‘s greenery. It was definitely a crowd favorite as they enjoyed cocktail hour.
Will and Kayla’s table was a focal point of the reception, so we incorporated this metal piece the venue had into their design! Evergreen Flower Co. created a floating piece that was placed right behind their sweetheart table.
Thank you Will and Kayla, even two years later, for including us on your special day. I think it’s clear we loved it, and love it still! Cheers!
